Lotsa stupid people in the world. Like they've never seen a pink veitchii before .

Please "never say never" since there are natural hybrid populations of veitchii X albomarginatas: could you imagine stable veitchii X albo (dark) plant population evolving into dark veitchiis or something new? that'd be fantastic.
Rob, The veitchii looks natural in color. It's too funny... we had someone suspect us of using photoshop for the Dec 06 Pitcher of the Month, which was one of our dark N. bicalcarata. Leilani actually posted a whole thread with the photo editing rules. The person who was questioning the color of our bical was claiming that my hand looked too red. We posted additional photos showing our dark bicals side by side with other "normal" colored bicals.
After we posted the above pics, we didn't hear anything else about using photoshop.
We know the photo of your N. veitchii is the natural color. It's a beautiful individual. Nice photo too. Does the peristome change color as the trap ages?
Rob, that is a lady's veitchii because it is pink...so you can only sell any cutting from it to ladies...and that means me. Surely, the men here would not fight with me over a Nep with such Hello Kitty pink.
Oh yeah, pink veitchii, who's ever heard of a pink veitchii...
I have, I even have one in the greenhouse, so my hand stays down; and I also would like to state that the whole hubbub about the alleged digital pinkness on Rob's photo is most likely a result of optical self-trickery of the brain. If you put a pastel-colored object in front of a mat pitch-black background, the object's colors will appear even more delicate. Take a picture of the same pitcher in front of a light background, and nobody'll complain.
Well rob..I cant put my hand up and say its unnaturally coloured, I will say howeever that its amazingly coloured... I can however say that when I saw that photo I presumed that you had photoshopped it, in that you must have put a black background in and maybe cleaned it up a bit. And thats ok, I spose, as long as the program isnt used to lighten it up or intentionally increase the contrast digitally of the shades. In the end its just a credit to your photography, the plant really does look amazing.
thatoneplantboi: Hey guys, I'm new to growing nepenthes, I'm getting a mini indoor greenhouse to grow them in. What kind of light should I use for them? Also, if you could provide a link to a product, it would be very much appreciated

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.

vidyut: hey mylesg. glad to hear that. Love this forum. Facebook can't organize knowledge like this. Will participate as much as I can.

vidyut: Photobucket has ruined this place and many other forum archives with years and years of photos worth referencing now blurred. Priceless information hostage to services once free, begging for adoption, arbitrarily monetized.
