We had an awesome visit at Ludwig's greenhouse with several plants really knocking our socks off. One of the first to see upon walking in the door is one of Mike's, (and mine), favorite plants, sib x TM. Now I've seen pictures of this thing before, but it just doesn't compare with seeing it in real life. Unfortunately, all you get to see is the pictures.
You just can't appreciate how big this tubby little monster is, until you've held it in your hand, (sorry Sam).
Looking at these pics, I don't even get a notion of it's size and I'm the one holding it. Now this doesn't rival any of the big Neps, (yet), but it should continue to get bigger and there is just something about the diameter of this pitcher and the wide, glaring toothy peristome that just captivates me.
Mike noted the fleshy, almost succulent pitcher lid, and the tendrils seem to be pretty long and red like the species sibuyanensis. I seem to recall the leaves having the reddish midrib - is that true Mike?
One look at the peristome and you can see the TM influence as well. The pitcher coloration seems to take after sib with perhaps a little darkening of color from the lowii side.

thatoneplantboi: Hey guys, I'm new to growing nepenthes, I'm getting a mini indoor greenhouse to grow them in. What kind of light should I use for them? Also, if you could provide a link to a product, it would be very much appreciated

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.

mylesg: i havent checked in here for a while, why does it seem all the CP forums have lost their once strong activity? the trade/sale section used to be so active and now its a ghost town. where is everybody hanging out these days for a strong online CP community?

vidyut: hey mylesg. glad to hear that. Love this forum. Facebook can't organize knowledge like this. Will participate as much as I can.

vidyut: Photobucket has ruined this place and many other forum archives with years and years of photos worth referencing now blurred. Priceless information hostage to services once free, begging for adoption, arbitrarily monetized.
