Which red plant do you have pictured there Michael? Do you have William's Red?? I am puzzled you mention it has alot of green flecks. The original Cantley's Red is flecked with green and greenish around the base from what I recall, although it's been years since I have grown that clone. The Brunei red plants vary but they are similiar although most I have seen have less green flecks than the Cantley's Red
Nice plant Hans. Can still see near the base it fades out orangish.
Here is a picture of William's Red I don't recall any green flecks and it is solid red right up to the tendril. The peristome gets a reddish black color. Some of the pictures on the web do show some green flecks and green at the base so perhaps culture has something to do with the red color developement?

The William's Red clone you show is a bright red while the plant I have is a dark red (with green flecks) so perhaps after repeated cuttings the plant may have developed sports with a variation of red and red with green flecks. Not sure if culture really have anything to do with it since they all grow in the same area all numbered and ID'd side by side.
I think pitcher colour of Red Amp does varies a lot according to different cultural condition but light should be the most important factor. It will be difficult to compare "reddness" of red amp on different growers this way. However, amp grow by the same grower providing same growing condition to all his amp should be able to be differentiated the difference of the intensity and other details of pitcher colour.
Michael, let all your red amp grow under the same condition and yes, label them properly. You may be one of the very few people that can provide a well controlled condition and also able to let amp to grow year round. I think it will be beneficial to all CP lovers.
However, there is one thing to remind .. Since colour of amp does varies a lot and almost every single individual is different to one and other, there could be a total number of 1000+ individuals with labels if there are lots of wild collected plants entering the market. The labelling system may be useless in that case ... Hans and I may be more familiarize with the situation in asia and we both saw tons of wild collected plants being imported ... no one will even border which could be more reddish ... those amp we are chasing for years are just like purishable vegetables ...
thatoneplantboi: Hey guys, I'm new to growing nepenthes, I'm getting a mini indoor greenhouse to grow them in. What kind of light should I use for them? Also, if you could provide a link to a product, it would be very much appreciated

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.
