Hello, very beautiful plant. I ordered 1 L sized from EP. makes me very excited. Should i expect something amazing? How many distinct forms are there from this cross? BTW, is that fungicide I see? thanks
It's interesting how this hybrid plays out. It has been done many times (both maxima x veitchii and veitchii x maxima) and there's always a big variation. Which I suppose is not surprising given the variation within both maxima and veitchii. Some have a very maxima look (like the one pictured here), and others are very strongly veitchii. I don't know how many times it has been done, but I know of at least 13 different crosses.

The dark peristome is actually the darkest form I've seen. Most have striped peristomes with attractive redder spotted pitchers.
The residue you see is not a fungicide (never ever used one, I'm too dry for the need) that is hard water residue. Our water supply is naturally housed in a cell that is pure coral just between layers of cinders which are porous and water has percolated between them and have filtered through to this lens.
thatoneplantboi: Hey guys, I'm new to growing nepenthes, I'm getting a mini indoor greenhouse to grow them in. What kind of light should I use for them? Also, if you could provide a link to a product, it would be very much appreciated

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.

vidyut: hey mylesg. glad to hear that. Love this forum. Facebook can't organize knowledge like this. Will participate as much as I can.

vidyut: Photobucket has ruined this place and many other forum archives with years and years of photos worth referencing now blurred. Priceless information hostage to services once free, begging for adoption, arbitrarily monetized.
