Tannic buildup in that pot? I've tried 2/1 Soil Mix and 3/1 Soil Mix and still the same thing happens over the summer months, plus I've had them in 12 and a half inch pots and still the same thing happens.
What is a Soul Mix? Dionaea can do just fine in a pure peat moss soil, but need very clean water and do not like being particularly wet so tall pots or just a little water in trays is more than enough for them generally, and parhaps not planted so deep in the pot; whatever peat you are using you should rinse it just to be safe before using if you don't know the TDS and use as pure a water as you can acquire. Tannic amd humic acids are what are both produced by sphagnum and released by peat to cause the dark tea color in water that contacts them, often released more in the presence of higher levels of other dissolved minerals which are not good for carnivores.
thatoneplantboi: Hey guys, I'm new to growing nepenthes, I'm getting a mini indoor greenhouse to grow them in. What kind of light should I use for them? Also, if you could provide a link to a product, it would be very much appreciated

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.

vidyut: hey mylesg. glad to hear that. Love this forum. Facebook can't organize knowledge like this. Will participate as much as I can.

vidyut: Photobucket has ruined this place and many other forum archives with years and years of photos worth referencing now blurred. Priceless information hostage to services once free, begging for adoption, arbitrarily monetized.
