This summer I have had 5 of my nepenthes flower. There are some people who caution that flowering CPs means they are stressed and might die, but I have never experienced a Nep plant die after I let it flower.
So there 4 boys and 1 girl flowering almost at the same time. Being a control freak, I then started or at least attempted to manually pollinate the female flower with the males. To my disappointment, many of the male flowers do not have much pollen for some reason, though I did eventually find some that had pollen and so I applied them on the top of the female flower.
Now one of those days that I was doing so, I then realized, wait, do they have a smell? They didn't seem to! So I stuck my nose closer and sure enough, there is a stink on the female flower, while some of the male flowers did have a bit of a stink, but some do not.
I have not noticed any other insect landing on these flowers Male or Female, except for one fly that was not a regular house fly, almost looked like a small bee but it was a fly. It stayed on the female for some time.
Has anyone else noticed any other insects that are attracted to the Nep flower?
I assume that because of the slight stink on the flower, that they are trying to attract flies and the likes and not butterflies and bees!

thatoneplantboi: Hey guys, I'm new to growing nepenthes, I'm getting a mini indoor greenhouse to grow them in. What kind of light should I use for them? Also, if you could provide a link to a product, it would be very much appreciated

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.

vidyut: Photobucket has ruined this place and many other forum archives with years and years of photos worth referencing now blurred. Priceless information hostage to services once free, begging for adoption, arbitrarily monetized.
