I know a grower who tells me that VFTs don't have dormancy but from what he said, I ASSUME that VFTs can tolerate and perhaps, 'skip' dormancy in our tropics. However, this is quite inconclusive yet here in Malaysia, I usually don't hear anyone complaining about their VFTs suffering from no dormancy.
Mine is doing fine throughout this year so far without any setbacks at all.
Do you mean you havent potted the VFT after receiving it? or are you transferring it to another pot? If it's a yes on the first question, pot it up ASAP. If it's a yes on the second question, my follow up question would be why do you feel the need to repot? It would stress your VFT more.

If I could get my hands on that Ethylene Chlorohydrin, I will not hesitate to use it on a VFT. I will test the VFT if its dormancy could be skipped by this compound. If not, then I could conclude that VFT's are not compatible with Ethylene Chlorohydrin. Although it is risky, if one seeks knowledge, then do not fear the uncertain. Fear locks one's knowledge.
I live in Hawaii, at about the same latitude as Mexico City. I am, however, at about 3500 feet above sea level, so we get some relatively cold weather here during the winter months. Even so, the cold is nothing like what you get in North/South Carolina, or even Florida. My VFTs go through a definite dormancy period followed first by flowering and then vigorous leaf production. If you don't give them any opportunity for dormancy, you are asking for trouble. Some time in the fridge every year should do the trick.
thatoneplantboi: Hey guys, I'm new to growing nepenthes, I'm getting a mini indoor greenhouse to grow them in. What kind of light should I use for them? Also, if you could provide a link to a product, it would be very much appreciated

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.

vidyut: Photobucket has ruined this place and many other forum archives with years and years of photos worth referencing now blurred. Priceless information hostage to services once free, begging for adoption, arbitrarily monetized.
