Hi, please what soil do you use for N.smilesii ? I have tried some standart nepenthes mixes, but this specie does not grow very well in them.

I have mine in a LFS/orchid bark/charcoal/perlite mix.....it seems to like soil with alot of LFS in it.

Phu-kradueng is a sandstone mountain with very sandy soil if i remember correctly, so maybe sandy would be a safe bet, but i also find it a surprisingly picky plant.

hi milossula,
How is N. smilesii doing for you in the Drosophyllum mix? I have two a small plants from BE and they came growing in cocopeat. I grew them in the original media for 3 months. Recently, I repotted them in pure sphagnum moss and they seem alright.
Cheers!

Hi Cindy, it is too early to tell any results. I have some seedlings in Cocopeat some in drosophyllum mix, some in bark+spahgnum. Maybe after next 3 months i can compare the results.

I keep them in my normal nep mix, but sitting in water.
