I thought there may be some interest in seeing a high pressure fogging system in action, as there don't seem to be any threads about them. The first picture shows the high pressure line with fog nozzles in my 6' x 12' Glasshouse. (The black tube with silver nozzles) (The green line is a misting system) The second shows the glasshouse after the fogger has been on for about 14 seconds. The system consists of a high pressure pump, 10 & 5 micron filters, electronic controller with day & night cycles, and 12x 3 micron fog nozzles. I have had it operating for a few months now and am very happy with the results.

Excellent system!
Does that also produce a noticeable cooling effect?

Carlo, I have not set up yet, but if you are interested in a misting system, I think that True Value sells a build your own system from a good name brand company. However unfortunately when I computed for the cost of a simple system that included misters, hoses and the likes, it will cost around P4000 to P5000 ($100) without a pump or a timer. The Timer is really very expensive, and I am under the impression that if you have a water booster pump in the house, that that will do the trick already.
I bought a cheaper version from True value, which was meant to be used as a mister to cool people during summer, it had the tubes and misters, but you plug it in a faucet. The problem is that I used a leaky hose to connect coz I don't have a faucet where my plants are, so there are so many leaks, the mist was not too strong. It cost maybe P1,500 for the set.

TTFN Arvin thanks for the info Arvin ;D but i'm not really sure if a mister is what i want, are misters and foggers the same? i kinda l;ike the sound of "fog"

This system operates at 1000PSI, much more than a booster pump for household use, thats how it produces very fine fog which hangs in the air. In Australia this systems costs around $3K as most of the components are imported, with the exception of the timer / controller.

what the heck!!!! that expensive!!! Hello Carlo! Do we really need these types of machines in the Philippines? Can we do without it or much better if we did? How come I can grow my neps beautifully in Laguna even without these? Usually in our place in the morning, there is fog and dew! Thanks!

Anna, We dont actually need this as we grow outdoors, and we grow mostly Lowlanders (assuming we have enough humidity) But it wouldn't harm the plants either. These systems, however expensive they are, are great for increasing humidity for the plants. I am actually doing a project on my grow area to simulate something like this by using a PVC pipe and some mister nozzles, also if your growing Highlanders this might help lower the temparature at night.
But of course this is one hell of an expensive rig to put up hehehe. You'll be surprise that others are connecting their terraria to fridge just to lower the temps. We'll do anything to pamper our plants hehehe.

yup, we don't actually need it, it's more of like an indulgent "want"
i've always dreamed of recreating the great greenhouses of the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, especially when i saw that print in wikipedia, which depicted the greenhouses of Frederick Sanders. i also love the greenhouse of KEW, as well as the one created by the duke of devonshire in chatsworth,
plus, a greenhouse whose very climate i can control is very appealing to me, i would also like to control the purity of the air, and so on, call me crazy, but a person can dream, can't he? ;D

carlo wow you do dream big hehehe. Me im quite simple, I wanted to buy a property where i can have the greenhouse as an extension to my bedroom. Also something where i can control temps so that i can grow highland and lowlands. Or maybe I'll just follow Volker's example and retire in the mountains. hehe.

Yeah, Randy. 2-6 USD a square meter. That simple. Let me know when you want me to watch for a lot for you. Anyway next year you are coming? I doubt you will be leaving. Who said retiring? I am working here ;D Now back to the topic of High pressure fogging Love your images, jjt. Fog is simply pretty, aside from the beneficial effects. Volker
