I've just received the second edition of this book. I didn't have the time, of course, to read it, but it looks fantastic.
It is absolutely new and hasn't appeared yet on the various on-line libraries. Philips and Lamb have worked this time with Ch'ien Lee (you know that guy who is as clever as Charles Clarke and as good-looking as Brandon Lee... ;D )
It has now almost 300 pages, loads and loads of pictures by Ch'ien, a chapter on cultivation by Ch'ien (again). The taxonomy has also been updated: some names have changed, pilosa (the real pilosa), platychila, among others, have been added.
My first impression is that it is now, visually, as good as Clarke's two famous books.
Today (August 19, 2008), I was so happy to get the latest copy of 2nd edition of "Pitcher plants of Borneo" by Anthea Phillipps, Anthony Lamb and Ch'ien Lee. Many thanks to Ch'ien Lee for passing me the book!!! I love this new book....VERY VERY MUCH!!!
Some pictures taken by me:
Stunning pictures taken by Ch'ien Lee:
There are a lot of paintings & colourful pictures in this book (298 pages):
You can buy it online soon (Published by Natural History Publications (Borneo) ). Their website:
hahaha... i love the book cover.... because the cover is the endemic Nepenthes only from my place, West Kalimantan... hahahaha.... and that species is also my nickname at this forum.... hahahahahaha...

plantguyty1: Does anybody need pollen? I have N. Miranda it's the first time it flowered for me so I do not know if its sterile or a good candidate. Is there anybody with an active female that would like to give my pollen a shot?

thatoneplantboi: Hey guys, I'm new to growing nepenthes, I'm getting a mini indoor greenhouse to grow them in. What kind of light should I use for them? Also, if you could provide a link to a product, it would be very much appreciated

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.
