No? 11inches is 27.5cm, presently one of my friends near me has aldrovanda strands 15cm long. I will see if I can get a picture off him.

11 inches is one BIG index finger... haha.. Here's a pic of my Aldrovanda, so far it seems to be doing good in it's environment cause it's grown larger and greener. Like I said, there's sphagnum in there and some peat under that, Ima try it out like this and if it doesn't seem to work I'll get the companion plants, if it does work, well then it'll make it that much easier to grow this cool plant.. My camera's kinda old and I ain't that great of a photographer, sorry if it's kinda blurry...

I'm a big guy. REAL big :-)
Thanks for the picture! My CP friends try to discourage me from buying a "slimy green blob", but I find them utterly fascinating. I found a fellow in HK who's willing to swap one an aldro for one of the mess of pings (x sethos) growing out on my porch...Good deal, I would reckon :-)

Nice job growing that Matti. I hear they're pretty hard to cultivate, not to mention rare :p .

Just a thought while Matti is gone, i feel there is no more need to express sarcasm on his behalf as he is probably reading this. To strike back is just as bad as starting a problem. How about you end your fued now LOL? Food for thought.

I kinda don't think he shoulda been banned to begin with. He seemed to have alot to contribute here and I saw the thread that got him banned and I gotta say I've seen worse out there. It's best to keep this forum friendly, but I figure there's gotta be another way...
Back on subject, anyone heard of the Meadowview Biological Research station? They sell some of their pond mud and companion plants to keep Aldrovanda healthy. I figured I'd give it a try, anyone else tried this from them?

It is squashed, as far as I'm concerned, since I wont have to face his daily attacks again.

Quogue,
you might have seen worse out there, but you haven't been here since the beginning, as has Matti. The thread that got him banned was just the straw which broke the back of that camel called "Twoton's Saintly Patience". Believe you me, I'm a really patient man. Nobody gets banned for being a moron once or twice, even thrice. I have children, I'm hardened to immature behavior. But after almost two years of uncivilized, pathological thrashing, even I will start having second thoughts.

My bad, I was starting to suspect that there was more going on than I realized.

Check these guys out: www.pitcherplant.org/catalog.htmAside from havin tons 'o' Sarrecenia and big Ceph's they also are quite knowledgable about these Waterwheels.. I ordered the kit with the mud and companion plants with some aquatic Ultric's. I'll be setting this up in a tank inside my LowLand Nepenthes grow chamber. Let's see how it goes... Meadowview also has a link to the Czech CP nursery www.bestcarnivorousplants.com/ which is a treasure trove of information on these plants. They got some funny pics too, I particularly like the guy feeding a chicken to a giant Ampy haha Twoton, didja start yer Aldrovanda growing yet?
