I like the look of lithops and love pings all I have is a weird esseriana and primuliflora but the primuliflora gives me tons of flowers and grows well while esseriana does nothing but make small yellow leaves one ping person said you want to have some vermuculite in the mix instead of peat and my very hard to find perlite he said 1 peat 1 perlite and 1 vermuculite. I grow my primuliflora just like a bog plant with my sundews and it has a big root system compared to mexican pings.(sprouted leafs that alaways die)
esseriana is a calcareous mexican species, no acid media for them.
primuliflora a subtropical US specie , a lot of people grow them just in sphagnum . In situ in spring, sometimes ,this specie grow under the water like planifolia besides. It is the only ping with medusinae to make plantlet alone, when their leave touch the soil .
