Anybody here grow King Sundews? I love em, they're definitely my favorite Drosera. I'm an apartment terrarium grower so I'm not big on space so I don't grow alotta stuff, but I have a "purebred" King with a couple of little offshoots and a 'Big Easy' Here's some pics of my 'Big Easy' at the NECPS show in October: Click to enlarge Wild Bill took these pics: And I took this one: I think Mike Stiffler mighta taken this pic: I gotta take a picture of my "purebred" and download and upload and post. Anybody grow this awesome plant too?

Yeah. I don't grow many dews, but regia is one that anyone who likes dews, really must have in their collections. I've got one mature specimen and 2 small plants that are growing really well now. I must sort out my pictures of them. Do you find big easy to be better than the normal clones in any way? Most people I have spoken to say it is no different to any other regia.

Well it's definitely more vigorous and much more tolerent of warm temps because both the BE & the Kings grow side by side making it very easy to compare. Grows fast but also doesn't grow as large I hear. Other than that, they look exactly the same. So for the East Coast of the US, the BE is a winner. Thankfully, the apartment where I live now accomidates the King as well being naturally nice & cool... Is there other clones out there that you know of?

No the only clones I've heard of are the typical clone and big easy. I've no doubt there are others, I just haven't heard anything about them.

I'll have to take some fresh pictures of my regia. I can't find the ones I have stored, they are amongst hundreds of other pics somewhere. I must start labelling the photos properly! I have found a photo of the flower from my regia when it opened this year, for some reason I relabelled that one so it was easy to find.

Beauty of a flower! Ya know, speaking of other clones of the King, it'd be cool to see an all-red one like the Red Cape Sundew. Could call it 'Big Red' nyuck-nyuck....

Just for the record, there are hundreds of seed grown clones of both the typical form, BE, and hybrids between the two being grown here in California.

Ya, I definitely would too! With all those clones out there that philcula mentioned, I'd say it's only a matter of time...
