I am simply amazed how moist (from looking at wet NZS) many of you keep your plants. Mine are drier and are allowed to dry out completely to create a hardened cuticle layer on their leaves and pitchers. Thus plants are succulent and resist drying...
i really dont think i need that method as they do so anyways in my condition. steves is also the same i think...
I am going to try letting my plants dry out a little to see if they grow better. Its just that humidity can get pretty low here and so I try not to let the plants go dry. Also, I top dress with pure LFS to increase local humidity, so that may be why the mix looks wet. I typically only water once a week, but may have to increase that if I go with a chunkier mix.

Although many of your plants seem immature, you will really love it when they get the high peristome, vivid colration of the pitchers themselves, and even the reddish coloring of the leaves with the dark brown fuzz. I think EP should cross this plant to a hurrelliana just to make it even better! Or even a Rokko x hurrelliana at that!
If you have a way to get these (spectabilis x veitchii) please get one. It is well worth it. Maybe if we all rant and rave enough, EP would remake it, maybe using a different spectabilis and or even a more vivid veitchii clone!
Mine is showing the completely red pichers, a lot like emilias . My fav. trait about veitchii's/veitchii hybrids is when they get that really long neck with the wide peristome. Just awesome! I remember seeing that on my eymae x veitchii, and it immediately became one of my fav hybrids !

plantguyty1: Does anybody need pollen? I have N. Miranda it's the first time it flowered for me so I do not know if its sterile or a good candidate. Is there anybody with an active female that would like to give my pollen a shot?

thatoneplantboi: Hey guys, I'm new to growing nepenthes, I'm getting a mini indoor greenhouse to grow them in. What kind of light should I use for them? Also, if you could provide a link to a product, it would be very much appreciated

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.
