Very beautiful red coloration of the pitcher and spikes! I try to emulate your pic but by using flash in evening with no black cloth. Focus is not as sharp and there is shadow. Haha must practice more..
Thanks everyone. I stuck some self-adhesive false velvet sheet onto some cardboard, set it behind the pitcher, and snapped the shot. I then uploaded the pic into Photoshop and used the magic wand tool to select as much of the black background as possible, which was then filled with black (of course). The pitcher and tendril were outlined with a steady hand using a fine brush at 400% zoom, so you can imagine how long that may have taken, taking into account the number of times I had to redo certain areas. The peristome and appendages were a nightmare, but well worth the effort after all. The reason I went manual was because I wasn't satisfied with the program's features, which were not at all as precise as I'd wanted them to be. The pitcher is more than 3" tall, if one includes the inviting lid!
Your ephippiata looks quite large also. Guess these plants really like our climate.
The plant is in an area I can't reach very well, so it doesn't get fed much into the pitchers. But I do have some time release fertilizer pellets in the pot. I started using this fertilizer several years ago based on an article (or maybe it was a forum posting) that I believe you wrote. The article mentioned that the best results were obtained by using fertilizer that contained magnesium oxide (2%). Osmocote was mentioned specifically, but none of the Osmocotes sold around here have MgO. The only fertilizer I could find that had MgO (but only 1%) was a Schultz Multi-Cote brand. I'm not sure if this one is better than other time release fertilizers, but it seems to be effective. The plant also gets seaweed fertilizer once in a while when I remember.
Have you done any more research on fertilizers in the past couple years?

plantguyty1: Does anybody need pollen? I have N. Miranda it's the first time it flowered for me so I do not know if its sterile or a good candidate. Is there anybody with an active female that would like to give my pollen a shot?

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.
