The standard beginner book covering all species is the "Savage Garden" by Peter D'Amato. It contains all geni, but only some selected species. It's quite cheap, has lots of images and is with luck even available in Philippine Bookstores (so I guess there should be no problem buying it locally in HK). Charles Clarke is like the Ferrari of the CP Books. Expensive, but very good, too - even for the advanced reader. Even more environmentally friendly than Ferrari... Volker
Charles Clarke is like the Ferrari of the CP Books.
True, but as opposed to a Ferrari, it's also an absolute must-have-can't-live-without-it, if you're serious about Neps. See, it's not only full of pretty pickshers, but provides bushels of INFORMATION on the various species.
Top the Clarke books off with the newly reprinted and souped-up 1928 Danser monograph (http://www.nhpborneo.com/onlinestore/product_details.asp?id=872), and you're all set.
As to information on how to grow Neps, I recommend the search function above as well your ever-helpful co-members here!
Nothing can top this forum for gardening tips, I swear.
