Whoa... that's a lot a varity there! Still have to find the net fungi that forms the net of gills that's got to be one of the oddest fungi I've seen in a book since supposedly they exist here. Back to the pictures, the last one if you eat it I think you might have the visuaals of hell before you die I wouldn't recomend it though. We're (my girl and me) planning on moving in possibly a year or so. But a trip back possibly earlier I would deffinitly enjoy going back especially with now another person in the area where I'd want to be. Love the pics.

Hey Nep369, I hope you get lucky and find the net fungi. When you head this way get in touch. Tate's Hell is real close to Port Saint Joe and has some amazing flora and fauna. I still haven't been but intend to go. BoGHead

Hey Rob, We are going to the seafood festival in Apalachicola this weekend. She said we can go to Tate'sHell afterward but that may just be so I'll take her to the festival. Twenty years ago it was worth going to. The last 5 or 6 times we went it wasn't too bad but now it is so commercialized it just isn't as fun. This year they have taken beer off of the menus and have more gospel groups. I need beer to put up with gospel music. It's only an hour or so from the house but still I'd rather go straight to hell ... er Tate's Hell that is. Have a good day, BoGHead

We ended up turning south and going to Indian Pass to go to ST. Vincent Island. The shuttle wasn't running so we took some pictures and came home. It could have been better and had to be better than the seafood festival. I knew we weren't going to Tate's Hell when I heard her, before we left, tell Debbie to come over for supper. Now I have 2 more places I almost saw. Maybe I'll have better luck next time, BoGHead

Hey Rob, Here is one I found in the woods. Here are a couple from my neighbors yard I found when we spilt the wood in his woodpile. The one above and the one below are of the same fungus and show where a weed grew through or was grown around by the mushroom. These 2 pics might remind you of home.

Here's a couple that look like big foot might have used the log for a back scratcher, but on closer inspection it appears to be another case of the fungus among us.

The more the merrier. These were taken from the edge of the street, day before yesterday, while walking the dog past my neighbor's yard or I'd have gotten a few close ups. I'm not totally opposed to nondamaging trespassing but his next door neighbor is a deputy sheriff and I don't like to be reprimanded if it can be avoided.

I completely understand I'm the same way if I see something worth the reprimand then I'm there if not then I'll think about for a long time before I'd ever do it, but those circumstances tend to end in no new ground exploring. a lot of white mushrooms with the 'egg' capsule on the bottom have been popping up and I've finally seen the first of the giants to appear but no camera as the rains start to get thicker it should get more interesting so probably mid december to march somewhere between there is the shroom's time of glory for the masses.
