I've never seen a mushroom this big. What kind is it? That's a quarter in the center.

Wow that is a big fungus I don't know what type that is, but we have something very similar to the yellow ones here in hawaii the next one to pop up I'll get some pictures and try to post them here.

Wow those are tiny! My friends and I found some star fungi on one of the last hikes I did as soon as I get back to uploading pictures I'll post them up.

We have one quite similar to the second picture they get up to 8.5-9 inches in diameter as far as I've seen so far. my pics will be up sometime today.

Hey Nep369, That is way cool. It shows the star coming out of its formative shell. Awesome dude. Does that star smell? Is it as big as a half dollar? Thanks for sharing, BoGHead

I don't remember if it had a scent but yes it was roughly the size of a silver dollar we found three total everyone was sitting just too the side of the trail in very moist almost wet red clay soil just under the outter branches of the guavas. No problem when ever i see things as wonderful as this I'm always hating it when I don't have a camera so this time was lucky.

Well I might be able to hunt down the mushrooms and cp's of florida with you in the next to years top cause it's mighty expensive out here and florida is my best bet. Also my dad grew up about an hour and a half away from panama city (Pt. St. Joe, Indian Pass), one of my favorite past times.
