Streptocarpus wenlandii - only ever grows one leaf, but it's a good one The revenge of the killer potato - Solanum pyracanthum And I'm REALLY looking forward to this. Stanhopea tigrina, nearly ready to pop

That solanum is amazing. We've got a few creepers in the woods here (Taiwan) that sport nasty spikes on the leaves, but not as pretty.

Close, apparently. It has an extremely powerful perfume - you know as soon as you open the door there is a flower open. They are some of the most intricate orchid flowers as well.
The downside is each flower only lasts a few days.

The stanhopea opened over the weekend. The first few flowers are already fading Amazing powerful spicy sweet smell - the kids think it's like bubblegum

Superb example of Stanhopea. I love it when mine bloom. That is a lot of flowers for a first bloom. mine has bloomed twice and it doesn't have that many flowers on it. Pictures just don't do it justice.
