Not to put too fine a point on it, Robert, but I feel left out in the cold here. Why only to all Chinese? Isn't good luck something for everyone to be shared, even us bignoses? After 18 years in Taiwan, Chinese New Year is MUCH more important to me than Christmas, and I feel it's really bad luck not to put chun1lian2 (red scrolls welcoming the new year) on all our doors.....while my Taiwanese wife sneers at this custom as "old-fashioned" :-)
