I was reading that these things like a peat/spaghum + sand or peat/spaghum + perlite + sand mix.
first is this accurrate?
Second it says sand must not be riverbank, play sand or building sand. Read it must be gardening sand.
I went to a local nursery and ended up with green sand and pot ash mix. It is enriched but only to a VERY minor degree from the ash. it reads 0 - 0 - 0.1.
Will this work for vft's and sundews? Bc I also read that they sometimes do controlled burns on preserves for drosera, dionaea and sarracenia the wild and the ashes were beneficial to the plants.
Lastly, the smallest bags of growing medium I purchased for my CP's contain way more than ill need for my collection.
Can I crush up some perlite to mimic sand if the sand I have is detrimental to my cp's?
thanx in advance.
