D. rotundifolia shipping damage *new to cp*

Hi,

I am getting started with CP's and am working with the following:

dionaea

D. Capensis

d. capillaries

d. rotundifolia

n. bical.

all are doing well but the d. rotundifolia, all but one of it's stalks were damaged in shipping. It has been 2 days and all of the damaged stalks have withered to nothing and the 1 doesn't look that great. I asked the vendor and he says it is typical for the rotundifolia to get damaged and that the plant should bounce back.

Is this accurate and if so what kind of recovery time am I looking at? The plant is very young and all of the stalks are/were about 2 inches long. The 1 stalk that remains shows an unhealthy looking cup/leaf.

If the last stalk dies; is the plant effectively dead or will it sprout new stalks? If so, what is the time frame before I can officially call it dead and seek compensation?

Damaged leaves are pretty much inconsequential, since the plant will soon send up new ones. Drosera typically make new leaves all through their growing season to replace old ones. I wouldn't worry about this too much. In a few weeks you will undoubtedly have a whole new crop of sticky traps!
