vmiller: Yes this nepenthes is very easy to grow even on windowsill it does create big pitchers like this ( when does have plenty of light ). This specie is much more rewarding plant than mostly recommended N. x 'Ventrata' or other hybrids. But there are many varietes of N.sanguinea. I have from seeds small dwarf plant, monster plant with monster pitchers with yellow to green traps, and this plant which does have reddish leaves and bloody pitchers.
crusher: yes i am sure. This plant was grown from seeds. Seeds come from Genting highlands.

Those sanguinea are gorgeous. I'm trying to sprout seds from Mt. Ulu Kulai right now, but no luck yet, and 2 months already past. milosussa: It's a gorgeous plant, but going by the width of hte pitcher and the striped peristome, sure it's not a hybrid? It looks almost like snaguinea x sumatrana to me.
In a Leilani thread "Rainforest" posted several photos of seed grown and found N. sanguinea, and summed up the list with the following statement:
"It should also be noted that many wild populations of N. sanguinea have introgressed with N. ramispina, macfarlanei and hybrids among these three. The coloration of N. sanguinea may appear to be darker-blackish (perhaps somewhere crossed over to ramispina), mottling or speckling undertones (perhaps somewhere crossed over to macfarlanei) and colors or patterns of both.
This species needs should be investigated further, like N. platychila, hybrids between these species are common and in some instances what we have been calling N. sanguinea, may in fact be a hybrid!

plantguyty1: Does anybody need pollen? I have N. Miranda it's the first time it flowered for me so I do not know if its sterile or a good candidate. Is there anybody with an active female that would like to give my pollen a shot?

thatoneplantboi: Hey guys, I'm new to growing nepenthes, I'm getting a mini indoor greenhouse to grow them in. What kind of light should I use for them? Also, if you could provide a link to a product, it would be very much appreciated

borneo: Yes, they work superbly. But you don't need expensive lights, cheap ones work well too.
